The Best Audio Book I've Ever Listened To

A truly brilliant audio book, with a great story, and a exceptional performance by all of the cast. This will definitely be listened to again and again.

Great version of a classic story

Entertaining listen, voice actors clearly enjoying the chance to be a pirate and the tale had lost none of its punch

Excellent adaptation of a classic

This was always my favourite book as a child, so I did not expect the audio play to live up to my expectations. But it did, it was played brilliantly by the actors - being a Bristol man I can say their accents were mostly accurate too!

Silver and the Doc stand out as outstandingly played parts. Hawkins as the narrator did an equally good job. Overall a good purchase - spoil yourself with this here real treasure.

evocative!

brought this classic alive! Katherine Tate was excellent as the only female character bringing humour and pathos to her admittedly small role (in terms of word count). a fantastic listen!

Superb!

Listens to various versions of this, and never really ‘got’ it before- decent story but hadn’t aged well.
This version turned that verdict on its head, and it was the fast paced story with plenty of shades of grey that I’d expected. Great job.

Brilliant. Almost perfect

This is a brilliant adaptation. Some big names and some lesser known ones but all were brilliant. Felt like I was transported to 18th century England. Only wish it was divided into chapters. Would still recommend it to anyone.
