Kathy Olevsky: A black belt, a karate instructor, an expert in self-defense reflects on her path forward after being diagnosed with an incurable illness

  • Summary

  • There’s no other way to describe her. Kathy Olevsky is one tough cookie. She has a black belt in karate and co-owns a karate school in North Carolina. She teaches other black belts and is also an expert on self-defense. Kathy's book, Take Control, teaches women how to defend themselves in every situation. But even her tough exterior couldn’t protect her from a health crisis. At age 50, Kathy was diagnosed with Microscopic Polyangiitis, an ANCA Associated form of Vasculitis that is incurable. But like everything else she has tackled in her life, Kathy looked at this as just another challenge that she would be able to manage. You will be inspired by her ability to overcome obstacles and continue living her best life.
