  • Dirty White Boy / Nothin' But a Good Time
    Aug 24 2022

It's time for some songs about guys being dudes as Vintown and Sammerz cover two of the greatest songs of all time: "Dirty White Boy" by Foreigner and "Nothin' But a Good Time" by Poison!

We start off with "Dirty White Boy". Did you know this song is called "Dirty White Boy"? Seriously, how did that happen? We get into some song meanings (more like wrong meanings), the album cover that made the Bible Belt mad, something called "crypto-racism", and more.

The YouTube comments for this one features a sweet old lady named Peggy who really loves this song. Also, a baby named after cocaine? Only in the YouTube comments!

The show then makes its way to Poison's 1988 classic, "Nothin' But a Good Time" and talk about the song's working class roots, Poison vs. Motley Crue, the classic music video, hockey, and Yogi Bear. (No picnic baskets were harmed in the making of this section.)

You want comments? We got comments! Lots of drug talk, annoying wives, a guy talking management's side in a Poison video, and the dastardly Kirk Cobain is to blame for all of it.

Dudes rock and so does this episode.

  • The Real O.C. - "Come Clean" & "Unwritten"
    Aug 16 2022

Vintown and Sammerz head to the early 2000s for two of the greatest songs of all time: "Come Clean" by Hilary Duff and "Unwritten" by Natasha Beddingfield!

    That's right, y'all, it's a Laguna Beach/The Hills theme song episode.

We start off with Hilary Duff's theme song for Laguna, "Come Clean". We go back, back to the beginning, to talk about the writing of this song and the music video before engaging in some Lyrics Talk. Plus, Sammerz makes her musical debut.

The YouTube comments are all over the place on this one with some really upset Disney adults. Plus, Vince's pitch for the Lifetime Original Movie: Come Clean.

The theme song for The Hills and one of the most inspirational songs of a generation is next, "Unwritten" by Natasha Beddingfield. We talk about her writing this song for her brother, her brother's hit song, and their sister who I bet you didn't know they had.

The YTC features our Metalhead of the Week, a heated discussion on whether or not Natasha is an Alanis ripoff, alarm clocks, and much more.

A fun episode about some trash TV theme songs.

  • Carlton/Branch '22 - "Everywhere" & "A Thousand Miles"
    Aug 3 2022

Vintown and Sammerz head back to the early 2000s for two of the greatest songs of all time: "Everywhere" by Michelle Branch and "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton"!

The show starts off with talk about Michelle Branch's "Everywhere" which she wrote when she was only 15! The only thing we were writing at that age were letters to our parole officers.

The YouTube commenters love this song as it takes them back to a simpler time before adulting and social media killed everything. A time when music was about more than ASS.

Our second song is "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton. You know, that song from White Chicks. There's a lot to talk about here from the celebrity she wrote this about, Stephan Jenkins, MTV censorship, Stephan Jenkins, Whoppa Wit Da Choppa, Stevie Nicks, and more.

There are plenty of comments on this one to unpack, including a special segment called "Sam, Are Men Okay?" The answer may surprise you. (It won't.)

A banger episode about two banger songs.
