  • Summary

  • We support the creation of products, education, advocacy and services that better the lives of people aged 50 plus, including older adults and their caregivers.

We feature a different theme and live panel each week with founders and leaders of global AgeTech products and services. Topics include Smart Home, Marketing, Fitness, Caregiver Support, Robotics, Social Isolation and Ending Well.

Our lively discussions, including comments and questions from our audience, are always full of valuable content.

We are publishing our Rethinking Aging Club archives back to Nov 2021 by category until we catch up; with CES Highlights first, then Caregiver Friendly Products and Fitness and Wellness.

It will take us about six months to get all of the approximately 100 remaining shows published by category in our podcast. However, you can listen to all of them on the Clubhouse replays.

    Dec 30 2024

In this episode, we discussed dementia and brain health as important aspects of aging and health. We heard from DementiaDarling Carrie Aalberts, an advocate in the dementia landscape, which addresses the needs of 1 in 3 older adults (somewhere between seven and 11 million).

Gabriela Pelin of VoiceLove shared about their “voice communications enabler” for dementia patients in ICU, now in pilot programs at both Vanderbilt and Texas A&M Longevity Center.

We also heard from Margo Merrick of LOOP Village, an online content engagement platform handling 120 events per month.

Margot was excited to be collaborating with Carrie Aalberts aka DementiaDarling, Adria Thompson of Be Light Care and Embodied Labs for an event that took place on (and thus drew new members to) Loop Village. It also fulfilled a California state Cal Grows requirement to deliver a Through Their Eyes Compassionate Care dementia webinar for Embodied Labs on August 20th 2024. ALL of these participants are part of the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP. Over 1,000 people attended.

  • Caregiver Friendly Products with CareLink360 and Shower Bay
    Dec 29 2024

In this episode, we discussed an intergenerational communications platform that creates lasting connections by being a simple, safe, and effective way to connect aging adults with family, friends and care teams. In addition to video chat and photo sharing, through the touchscreen users can access a wide range of health and wellness tools, helping you to get ahead of the curve with preventative fitness and wellness in general.

We also learned about a “no re-model required” accessible shower that can be assembled in any room of the home without any plumbing changes - just seven main hard plastic pieces that snap together (no tools or screws required), and it includes ramp access. Great for newly immobile care receivers or multi-level homes!

Recorded on March 14, 2024, this episode is part of the Caregiver Friendly Products Series. Speakers are listed in their order of appearance.
