• How to Deal When the Abuse Continues Post-Separation
    Jan 14 2025

    Send us a text

Leaving an abusive relationship is supposed to bring peace, but for many, the abuse doesn’t end—it evolves and often ramps up. In this episode of The Be Better You Podcast, we tackle the reality of post-separation abuse and provide actionable steps to regain your power. I explore common tactics abusers use to maintain control, such as lying to children, launching smear campaigns, harassing you through texts or calls, weaponizing new partners, refusing to follow court orders, and financially draining you through frivolous legal motions. These behaviors are rooted in the abuser's need for control and their desire to punish you for leaving.

We also dive into the emotional and psychological toll this continued abuse takes on you and your children. From anxiety and isolation to the erosion of trust and stability, post-separation abuse leaves deep scars that require intentional healing. Many victims feel unprepared for this escalation, often underestimating how far their abuser will go or lacking the support network needed to navigate it.

To empower you, I share practical strategies for reclaiming control. Learn how shifting your mindset, by uncovering limiting beliefs that create fear or insecurity, can give you back your power. We discuss how setting and maintain boundaries, train the abuser through consistent actions, and document their behavior helps to protect yourself legally. Building a strong support system with friends, family, mentors, and professionals is also essential. I include personal stories, such as my own experiences with repeated court battles, and offer advice I’ve given to others dealing with harassment.

This episode is filled with relatable examples, empowering steps, and hope for a better future. Don’t forget to stay tuned for my upcoming book, releasing this February, which will dive even deeper into this topic and offer a guide to reclaiming your life after abuse. If you’re experiencing post-separation abuse, reach out to me on Instagram or Facebook to share your story and start your journey toward healing.

  • How ‘Knowing You Know Nothing’ Can Transform Your Life
    Dec 17 2024

    Send us a text

Have you ever been so sure you knew something—only to realize later you were way off? In this episode, we dive into the timeless wisdom of Socrates and his famous quote, “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” We’ll explore why embracing what you don’t know isn’t a weakness but a superpower that can lead to deeper growth, clarity, and transformation.

I’ll share two humbling stories from my own life—one where my overconfidence in fixing something at home led to a bigger mess, and another about writing my first self-help book without seeking guidance, only to be overwhelmed by edits. Both moments taught me the difference between certainty, confidence, and intuition—and why staying curious and open is the key to navigating life’s challenges.

Whether you’re facing a decision, working on personal growth, or simply trying to better understand yourself and others, this episode will inspire you to let go of the need to have all the answers. Join me as we explore how embracing the unknown can transform the way you approach life, relationships, and even yourself to help you become a better YOU!

  • You Are Not Broken
    Dec 10 2024

    Send us a text

In this heartfelt episode, I share a simple yet powerful story about making Thanksgiving meals with my kids—and how a spilled pile of cheese became a lesson in self-compassion. When my daughter asked my son, "What’s wrong with you?" for spilling the cheese, I stepped in to reframe the moment, reminding them that mistakes don’t make us broken—they make us human.

This idea applies to you, too. Whether you’re recovering from narcissistic abuse, struggling with emotional wounds, or feeling like you’ll never heal, I want you to know: You are not broken. Healing isn’t about fixing yourself—it’s about transforming, just like a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. Inside the cocoon, the caterpillar isn’t trash because it’s a pile of goo—it’s undergoing a beautiful transformation.

If you’re ready to shift your mindset and break free from harmful thoughts like rumination, this episode is for you. Stay tuned until the end, where I invite you to my free training, Break Free From Rumination, to help you take the next step in your emotional abuse recovery journey. Your healing begins with knowing you’re already whole.

Keywords: narcissistic abuse recovery, emotional abuse recovery, healing after narcissistic abuse, breaking free from rumination, self-worth, transformational healing.

  • Low Self-Worth, Rumination, and Comparing Yourself to Others
    Dec 3 2024

Have you ever found yourself scrolling through your ex’s new partner’s profile, comparing every detail to yourself, and wondering why you weren’t enough? It’s not just about them moving on—it’s about the spiral of self-doubt and worthlessness that follows. In this deeply personal and transformative episode, I’m sharing my story of how I fell into that same trap when my ex moved on just a few months after our split. Even though I didn’t want him back, I couldn’t shake the nagging thought that something was wrong with me. Why wasn’t I enough for him to treat me better? Why did he seem so happy now?

But here’s the truth I discovered: his behavior—then and now—had nothing to do with me. And the same goes for you. In this episode, I’m breaking down why those thoughts of not being good enough keep repeating in your mind and how you can start rewriting that story today. If you’re tired of comparing yourself to “her” and ready to stop letting someone else’s choices define your worth, this episode is the first step toward freedom. Plus, I’m inviting you to my free online training, Break Free From Rumination, on December 11th at 7 PM EST, where we’ll go even deeper into these ideas. Hit play and start reclaiming your power!

  • Why Can't I Ever Be Good Enough - A Painful Personal Story **Listener Disclaimer
    Nov 26 2024

    Send us a text

    Please Note the LISTENER DISCLAIMER!!!

Episode Description: In this episode of the Be A Better You Podcast, we’re exploring the deep-seated belief that so many people carry—“Why can’t I ever be good enough?” that was shared by a listener. This thought often leads to cycles of rumination, especially for those who have experienced narcissistic or emotional abuse. If you’ve found yourself constantly replaying moments, questioning your worth, or feeling like you’re never quite “enough,” this episode is for you.

Through a powerful personal story, I share the moment when I was faced with this belief in my own life. During my marriage, I constantly found myself striving to be “good enough” for my ex, even when it felt like nothing would ever satisfy him. In this episode, I recount a particularly emotional experience that is proof that when you ruminate on "not good enough" you may turn to unbecoming or harmful behaviors just to feel worthy.

    ***Listener Disclaimer:
This episode contains an emotionally charged story involving the death of an animal. I know this may be upsetting to some listeners, so please take care as you listen. My goal is to share this story as a way to shed light on the deeper struggles behind rumination, but I want you to feel prepared for this content in case it’s a sensitive topic for you.

What You’ll Learn in This Episode:

    • How feelings of “not being good enough” create a loop of rumination.
    • How that rumination can lead to unwanted and harmful behaviors.
    • Why this belief keeps us tied to past events and emotional pain.
    • How to start recognizing and questioning the subconscious beliefs that fuel rumination.
    • A reflection exercise to help you identify the core beliefs behind your own recurring thoughts.

Plus: Join me on December 11 at 7 PM EST for a special Break Free from Rumination training session, where I’ll teach you specific tools to stop rumination and uncover the beliefs keeping you stuck. After the training, you can also join an exclusive $10 discovery upgrade session to get personalized help uncovering your own unique patterns.
