This week, we sat down with Priscilla Castro, the Director of Marketing at PLANOLY. Prior to PLANOLY, Priscilla lived as a Los Angeles native creating digital content and strategies for brands like Create & Cultivate, BeautyCon, Filter Magazine, and many others.

In episode three, I sat down (virtually, of course) with artist, Catie Lewis, to talk about being an adoptee and finding her birth parents through a Facebook post.

We talk about discovering your self confidence as a woman of color in a place where no one looks like you. And we address the question of our childhood: Why the HELL were there so many American Girl Dolls but not a single one that looked Filipina?!

In episode six, I sit down with my friend, Isabella Toledo. Bella’s dad is one of the CITGO 6, 6 CITGO executives who have been in prison in Venezuela since 2017 without a trial. In this very open conversation, we talk about how trauma launched her journey of self-discovery; from recognizing her privilege, going to therapy for the first time, and continuing to do self-work.

Isabella Toledo is an Account Manager at Facebook, supporting e-commerce advertisers grow their businesses. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Isabella came to Miami with her parents when she was 1 year old. She is a proud Latina, passionate about empowering under-represented communities through story telling, activism and community. Isabella is a graduate of The University of Texas and 200 Hour Power Yoga Teacher Training Certified.

In episode seven, I sit down with Irma of Dirty South Sex Ed to talk about s-e-x. We cover a lot of topics we tend to keep hush-hush, but guess what?! We’re not keeping it hush-hush in this episode. We talk about pushing past stigma, social conditioning, and our upbringings to live a more pleasure filled life. Some topics we cover are:

Irma is a certified sex educator in Texas and client services manager at Jane’s Due Process, where she helps Texas minors exercise their reproductive rights to an abortion. Prior to joining the JDP team, she was an abortion counselor at a local Austin clinic, as well as a birth doula. Now as the sexpert on staff, her focus is to connect the harm of sex-negative anti-abortion rhetoric into a wider sex-positive reproductive justice framework where marginalized people are shamed and robbed of their autonomy. She believes that when Black, Indigenous, and other people of color experience pleasure on their own terms, it’s an act of protest, but most importantly--self-care.
