  • Season 1, Episode 12: Good People by Majid Jordan Reaction
    Apr 18 2024

On the last episode of this season, Helaman listens to Good People by Majid Jordan for the first time. This Toronto R&B duo were among the first to sign to Drake’s OVO record label and have been instrumental in defining the sound of Toronto. Majid Al Maskati’s knack for finding melodies paired with Jordan Ulman’s calm, but intricate, production makes for the smooth sound they are loved for.

    Apr 11 2024

Funkadelic was a pioneering funk band, blending two of the most iconic sounds of the 60s: funk and psychedelic rock. Their 3rd album ‘Maggot Brain’ captures all the ideals that Funkadelic and its founder, George Clinton, tried to capture in their music: skilled musicianship, funky grooves, idealism, and pure, fun weirdness. Listen along as Parker grooves out to the music and begins making sense of the statement Funkadelic makes on this album.
