As hard as I tried to keep him out of my heart, he broke through it like shattered glass. Even though my father didn't approve and our relationship would always be a secret, I didn't care. Thankfully, he’s not spiteful and vindictive like Conway and hires me. Now I have money in my pocket—and I’m not a prisoner to anyone. I buy myself an apartment and start a new life in an old place. Conway hasn’t called—and I suspect he never will.
