Through force, lies and deception, the continent of Amcronos is ruled by the evil warlord Natas. The only hope for the people can be found in the king of light, but only a few yet seek him. Still recovering from the recent siege, the city of Hightenmore is visited by an ally from the east. Convinced to begin the offensive, the unified army charges against Natas' northern strongholds. Midway through this endeavor, a threat comes from menacing beasts from the south, who are much stronger than anyone expected.

Young ranger Lavrin, aided by his friend Calix, makes his way throughout the northwest region of the land of Amcronos. Living in a tree house located within the Forest of Bane, Lavrin and Calix decide to take the trek to the fair city of Saberlin. Soon, they find things are not as they had once been.
