Before the beginning, there existed the Holy Trinity; Father Son and Spirit. Together, they called forth the Heavens and the Earth. Heaven was a celestial abode for the Heavenly beings, and Earth, a desolate waste. The first sons of God were the angels, magnificent beings who inhabited the Heavens. There was great joy and glory in Heaven, however, there was one amongst them who would plunge the entire world into darkness.

This is the first five episodes of the series. The story tells of the Dream World, a parallel world to the human realm. There was a battle in the dream world between the forces of the Dream King and the forces of the Nightmare King. The son of the Nightmare king was cast into the human world to prevent disaster. The story centers around the adventures of the Nightmare King's son and his quest to restore order to the Dream World while fighting for the love of the Dream Knight, Ayumi Kirisawa.

Zan decides to leave Ayumi in order to protect her from himself. Unfortunately, his plans do not suit the will of a strange boy who appears to calm his fears. Ayumi finally discovers Zan's true identity. Later on, Ayumi decides to make Zan happy by bringing him a birthday gift. Unfortunately, she will have to cross the Borders Of Hopelessness ruled by none other than the evil soul of earth, Despair. Caught in a desperate battle, Ayumi, Face and Victoria will have to rely on their true emotions to defeat Despair.

Eons ago, there existed great fighters known as the Jo-lan who drew forth their power from mythical beasts known as Psychorages. However, an evil warlord called Innovain brought them to the brink of extinction, then he sought to enslave the next generation of Jo-lan fighters. A young boy called Josec Fenix, after witnessing the death of his father, renounces the art of fighting, but fate sets him on the path of a fighter to restore peace.

Zan realizes that the price for defeating Cowardice was to have Ayumi's memories of him erased. He is initially devastated however, Ayumi's family convinces him to create new memories with Ayumi. As Zan realizes the depth of his love for Ayumi, he decides to join her in battling nightmares by accepting initiation into Dream Knighthood. However, another sinister force pulls the strings behind his initiation.
