Giovanni Taulero (1300-1361) è stato un mistico tedesco. Egli auspica una totale sottomissione alla volontà di Dio in tutte le dimensioni della propria esistenza. "Solo un uomo semplice, che si è abbandonato a Dio ed è umile, sperimenta e sente questa unione con Dio nel suo fondo interiore". Molto apprezzato da Lutero, fu, forse per questo, messo all'indice nel 1578, ma fu poi riabilitato da Santa Teresa d'Avila e da San Giovanni della Croce.
