Harry Potter er desperat efter at komme tilbage til Hogwarts og finde ud af, hvorfor Ron og Hermione har været så hemmelighedsfulde hele sommeren. Men det femte år på Hogwarts bliver hverken let eller behageligt for Harry. Ministeriet for Magi nægter at tro på Harrys og Dumbledores forsikringer om, at Voldemort er vendt tilbage. Ministeren sender en repræsentant til skolen, som skal sørge for at udbrede Ministeriets holdning og lukke munden på Harry - med alle midler. Og med katastrofale følger....

Harry er også selv troldmand og skal starte på Hogwarts skole for heksekunster og troldmandsskab. Han skal bl.a. medbringe tryllestav, troldmandshat og enten en kat, en ugle eller en tudse - og så starter et eventyrligt liv for Harry, der skal lære et hav af magiske tricks og desuden må tage kampen op mod den onde troldmand, der dræbte hans forældre.

En farlig fange fra troldmandsfængslet Azkaban er undveget, og faren er så alvorlig, at Ministeriet for Magi ser sig nødsaget til at sende efterretninger til den ikke-magiske verden. Harry er specielt i fare, da fangen åbenbart er ude efter ham.

Even as they challenge new dungeons, Murmur is haunted by an old enemy who seeks to take her down a dark path. Meanwhile, Laria and Shayla struggle to hide Wren’s prolonged immersion in the game from coworkers and sponsors alike, forcing them to seek out unlikely allies.

Well, she's not dead. That's better than Mummur expected. But after Telvar cast her out of the game with all her strings attached, Murmur has more than in-game death to deal with. When some of the abilities of Somnia remain with her, Murmur must figure out where she ends and the game begins.

With Somnia coming apart at the seams as the virus rampages, Murmur desperately plunges through the portal to save Sinister, Fable close behind. James' entrance into the game has added yet another problem for the development team. Meanwhile, Jirald takes his vendetta to the next level, doing everything he can to sabotage the raid. Allies and friends clash as uncertainty hangs over access to the final dungeon. The virus has figured out how to access some headsets, risking potentially millions of lives.

Somnia is evolving, and Murmur is confronted with enemies both old and new. She must lead her guild, Fable, through a dungeon filled with riddles and puzzles to claim the first of 12 keys required to achieve victory. But things are not as they seem: Glitches abound, enemies rally against Fable, and unexpected threats move in the shadows. As the system becomes increasingly complex, Laria and Shayla battle through mismatched coding, and Storm Corp discovers they’ve left some anomalies in the game out of their reports. Anomalies like Wren.

Death isn't always permanent, and second chances don't come free. The system gives Dare no answers, only orders. The other eels are equally as unforthcoming, and Dare must resort to dangerous methods to uncover hidden information, taking chances that risk death if the system in their head disapproves. By poking at the holes in the Second Chance (SC) system, Dare discovers just how blurry its morality truly is. For anyone to escape, it’ll take working together.
