As a reward for her recent successes, an elderly priest gifts Kit a sentient dragon-bone cane and information on the location of an ancient library.

Kit’s 16th birthday went from bad to worse when she got dragged off to investigate rumours of spider god worshippers infesting a nearby village.

Kit's progress in taking down the massive slave trade that threatens her kingdom takes a turn for the worse. Enemies seem to be around every turn, each with their own motives and desire to remove Kit from their path. Her success will depend largely on her friends, but accepting their aid may result in a death sentence for all of them.

The Veil is failing. Tens of thousands of soldiers muster, threatening to overrun the free cities. Blood thirsty slavers, demons, and gods are bent on world domination while the dragons seek to set the world ablaze.
