மாந்திரீக நாவல்களின் வரிசையில் கோட்டயம் புஷ்பநாத் அவர்களின் மற்றுமொரு படைப்பு மோகினி கோயில். மும்பை நகரத்திலிருந்து வெளிவரும் மலையாள மாத இதழான "சேல்ஸ் டாக்ஸ்" பத்திரிகையில் 27 மாதங்கள் "யக்ஷிக்காவு" என்ற பெயரில் வெளிவந்த நாவல்.

ஹரிகிருஷ்ணன் தன் தந்தை விட்டுச் சென்ற ஓலைச்சுவடிகளை படிக்கும்போதுதான், பூமியில் புதைந்து போன எழிமலைக்காவு பகவதி கோவில் பற்றி அறிகிறான். மூன்று நூற்றாண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இறந்த அந்தர்ஜன் என்ற இளம் பெண்ணின் வழிகாட்டுதலுடன் பகவதி கோவில் எவ்வாறு இயற்கையின் தாண்டவத்தால் வெளியுலக மக்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுகிறது என்பதை சுவாரசியம் கலந்த முடிவற்ற பல தொடர் நிகழ்வுகள் நிறைந்த கதை "தாண்டவம்"

பழங்காலத்தில் ஏழீக்கரை கிராமத்தில் கொடிகட்டிப் பறந்திருந்த குடும்பம் பொன்னாட்டு மனை . மூத்த வாரிசுகளின் ஆடம்பர சுகபோகமான வாழ்க்கை முறைகளால் இன்று வறுமையில் தள்ளப்பட்டு அந்த குடும்பத்தில் மீதம் உள்ளவர்கள், பத்ரன நம்பூதிரியும் இருபத்தேழு வயதான வேலை இல்லா பட்டதாரி மகன் கிருஷ்ணன் உண்ணியும் தான்.

அம்மாவையும் ,ஐந்து சகோதரிகளையும் காப்பாற்றுவதற்காக கார் டிரைவராக பணியாற்றுகிறான் ஜயன். அவன் முதலாளியே ஜயனின் மீது பொய் குற்றம் சாட்ட, தூக்குதண்டனை கைதியாகி சிறைக்கு செல்கிறான். ஜயன் தன் மீது விழுந்த பழியை போக்குவதற்காக சிறையில் இருந்து தப்பித்து, காவல்துறையினரிடம் அகப்படாமல் தான் நிரபராதி என்று ஊர்ஜிதம் செய்ய எடுக்கும் முயற்சிகளே பதிலுக்கு பதில்.

சார்லஸ் நிக்கோலஸ் எனும் வெளிநாட்டு விஞ்ஞானி சூத்திரம் ஒன்றை கண்டறிகிறார். பூமியில் இருந்து விண்வெளிக்கு ராக்கெட் மூலமாக அணுகுண்டு பூமியின் எந்த பாகத்திற்கு செலுத்தப்படுகிறதோ அந்த பாகம் முற்றிலும் அழிக்கப்படும். பூமியில் இருந்தே இயக்கக்கூடிய சூத்திரம் அது. இந்தியாவுடன் அதைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்ள வருகிறார் நிகோலஸ்.
