冬が迫る北海道で小作人の仁右衛門夫婦は、痩馬とともにやっとのことで、松川農場にたどり着く。たどり着いた新天地でもまた貧しい生活が待っていた。極貧の中で、罪ゆえか嫉妬と憎悪を抱きながらも仁右衛門にできることは、精一杯生きていくことだけであった。一度はキリスト者であった有島武郎が、神によって救われない者の物語として書いた「カインの末裔」は絶望的な状況の中での、粗暴な主人公仁衛門の粗野な行動を完璧な構成と緻密な文章で描がいている。新進の声優櫻井理絵が有島武郎作品の朗読に挑みました。(C)想隆社/Pamlink Corp.

太宰の小説に本質的な古さは感じない。また太宰の作品は未完とされるものが多いが、この火の鳥もまたそうである。主人公の高野幸代は須々木乙彦と出会い、睡眠薬心中を図るが、自分だけ生き残り、やがて女優として開花する。女優になる前と後を通じ、高野幸代は、様々人間と出会っていく。取り巻く状況は変わるが、心にわだかまる虚無や寂しさが癒されることはない。この火の鳥を聴いていると、ただその日その日をよろよろあたふたと生きてゆくだけだ、そんな言葉が浮かんでくる。新進の声優櫻井理絵が太宰治の朗読に挑みました。(C)想隆社/Pamlink Corp.
