A string of grisly murders threaten the inhabitants and visitors to The French Quarter. As the terror spreads, it gets the attention of Nicholas Axminster a private investigator who calls New Orleans home. Axminster lives by a code that has served him for nearly 10,000 years, his entire existence as a vampire. A regular fixture in the French Quarter, he has protected the area for many years, and now he has to step out of his role as private investigator, and once again be the avenging angel for the inhabitants and visitors to the Big Easy.

In Mehven, the weather is always changing, all pizza is frozen pizza, all TV shows are reruns, and your coffee is never the perfect temperature. Mehven is good enough for most, but not good enough for Kevin. His wife, Tiffany, was a far better person than he was and was most certainly sent to Heaven. If Kevin wants to spend the rest of eternity with her then he'll have to prove to God that he is a good enough person to be promoted from Mehven to Heaven.
