    Saturday, January 11th, 2025: Mansfield Senior suffered their 1st home loss of the season to Lima Senior, 61-57, at Pete Henry Gymnasium. The Spartans jumped out to a 8-0 lead, but the TYgers came right back with a 7-0 spurt. Mansfield Senior led the game by 4, 20-16, after the 1st quarter. Lima Senior outscored Mansfield Senior, 15-9 , in the 2nd quarter to take a two point lead into halftime at 31-29. Mansfield Senior had the edge in scoreing in the 3rd period, 15-11, an dthe TYgers led 44-42 after 3 quarters. Lima Senior won the final quarter, 19-13, to improved to 8-1, while Mansfield Senior falls to 8-2. Lima Senior had 4 guys finish in double figures: Amari Addy 15, Je'Kel Cotton 13 points and 18 rebounds, and 10 each for Willie Foster and Noah Simpson. Shawn Foster received two technical fouls in the 1st half and finished with 8 points. Mansfield Senior's Andrew Brooks, sophomore, had a great game with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Kyevi Roane had 19 points, 8 rebounds, and D'Vontae Johnson had a double double - finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

  • High School Boys Basketball - Jan 4th, 2025 - Ashland at Ontario

    The Ashland Arrows used a big 4th quarter to get a road win at Ontario on Saturday night, 59-46. The Arrows led by 2 points after one quarter, 11-9, and by 3 at the half, 22-19. Ontario started the 3rd quarter on 10-0 run, but Ashland responded, closing out the 3rd on a 14-4 spurt. The Arrows outscored Ontario by 10 in the final quarter, 23-3, to post their 6th win of the year. The loss for Ontario was their 7th in a row. Paxon Ediger led Ashland with 15 points, while the Arrows got 13 big points off the bench from sophomore Garrett Davis. Ontario's Cardae Brown had a game high 25 points, while Trindon Flenoury chipped in 16 for the Warriors.

  • High School Boys Basketball Jan 3rd, 2025 - Ashland at Lexington

    The Lexington Minutemen won their 5th in a row on Friday, 71-54, at home over OCC rival Ashland. The Arrows went up 5-0 early in the 1st quarter, before the Minutemen went on a 14-0 run to take control. Lex led by 6 after one quarter and by the same margin at halftime (33-27). The Minutemen used a 22-9 advantage in the 3rd to pull away for the 17 point victory, which puts Lex into a tie atop the league standings (5-1) with Mansfield Senior and Wooster, who each have one league loss. Lexington was led by Seven Allen with a team high 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Jakob Legron connected on 4 three's for 12 points, Gavin Husty chipped in 11 and Joe Caudill added 10. Ashland was led by Paxon Ediger, who had a game high 26 points.
